Finance Systems Implementation
Our scope here is narrow on purpose: the systems that produce financial statement figures and tax returns. Networks, hardware and operational applications beyond that are not our territory, and we say so at the outset so that project scope does not widen quietly.
That boundary also follows the law. Article 3(3) of Law No. 5 of 2011 permits a public accountant to provide other services relating to accounting, finance and management. As with our other advisory lines, this service is not provided to entities whose financial statements we audit for the same financial year, under Article 28(2)(c) of that law.
Engagements- System selectionsetting out accounting and tax requirements first, then assessing candidates against those requirements rather than against a feature list.
- Chart of accounts and mappingdesigning a chart of accounts that produces the financial statements directly, and mapping legacy accounts to the new structure.
- Balance migrationmoving opening balances, subsidiary ledgers and in-year transactions, with reconciliations that prove nothing was lost.
- Reporting and reconciliation automationrecurring reports, bank reconciliations, and the files behind tax reporting that are currently prepared by hand.
- Data readiness for audit and examinationorganising the transaction trail so that auditor and tax examiner requests can be answered from the system.
What determines the outcome
Accounting is designed before the system is chosen
Accounting policy and the intended shape of the statements are settled first, because a system only executes decisions already made.
01Migration is tested by reconciliation
Balances before and after the move are compared line by line, and every difference is explained individually.
02The cutover date drives the workload
Moving at the start of a financial year avoids running a year with two sources of figures.
03The people who will use it help design it
The accounting staff who will run the system are involved from the mapping stage, so they do not have to be persuaded at the end.
04It starts with one conversation
The initial consultation is free of charge. Tell us where your company stands and we will help map the next step.
